roxy hummed quietly as she headed to the fireplace in her parents house. they were out, but they trusted her, now that she was seventeen and in her final year of hogwarts, to be able to make her own way around the wizarding world without them there to hold her hand. it was true, she couldn't keep having them there to keep an eye on her, she didn't need them to. she needed to make her own way. so here she was, making her own way to diagon alley to grab some supplies before she headed back to hogwarts for her last year.
it was saddening to think that this was her last year of hogwarts - she loved the place, it had so many good points that outweighed the occasional bad things.. like backfiring spells, homework, and bullies like deimos lestrange. she would miss it, she had no doubt, but she was excited too - to be going out into the great wide world to discover her path in life. she already knew what she wanted to do - she wanted to become a healer. roxy had always had a gentleness n her that screamed 'healer', she always wanted to help people, even those who wronged her - if they were injured she'd step forward to help fix them. she couldn't help it, she was just that kind of person. too forgiving maybe? but it was her choice.
she stepped into the fireplace and dropped the powder into the ashes at her feet, clearly announcing 'diagon alley' and finding herself spinning through different fireplaces until she reached her stop. she climbed out, over a grate that almost sent her face planting the floor. roxy wasn't always that graceful on her feet. oh she could fly pretty darned well but try sending her walking in a straight line and she'd find something to trip over. she was sure it amused kas to know end but it was sure as heck frustrating for her.
she headed out the store and into the street, running through a list of things she needed to get - books, some new robes, some potions ingredients and some new quills. that was enough, all she needed. she thought she'd buy some things now then stop for lunch before getting the rest; she already had money so she didn't need to go to diagon alley. she was actually rather hoping that she would get a chance to meet with kaspan, she hadn't had a chance to see him in a couple of days and though they got to talk by owl it was never really the same. she missed him, she needed to see him. she knew it wouldn't be a very public meeting but she knew that would change one day, when their families accepted things. until then, as long as she was with him she didn't mind the how.
she shifted the bag on her shoulder and flipped her hair back out of her way and popped into the book store, checking over a list of the books she had to acquire before going round the shop to hunt them down and pay for them, before shoving them neatly into a bag and heading out the shop, wondering where she should head to next and rather hoping she'd bump into someone she knew so she could have an excuse to go for a drink or ice cream or something.
